“The witches who call themselves the Taras.” Kay’s dark-skinned body, her black hair, her black leather clothing, seemed to melt into the darkness of the dark booth. I could almost believe she wasn’t real.

“If I don’t belong here, in this world, how did I get here?”

Kay’s hand reached out of the dark and took hold of my hand. “You are here because I killed you.”

“What the fuck?” I tried to pull my hand out of her grasp, but she tightened her grip on my hand. “This is insane.”
